Krakow, Poland

I had an amazing chance to be a part of a sports ministry on a missions trip to Poland. i had such a great experience getting to know a lot of the student-athletes in the area. Our main goal was to go and have open conversation about building a good relationship with Christ. Most times we weren't able to have that open conversation because of the language barrier, but after a couple of days we were speaking more polish and they were speaking more english.

During the time of passing this barrier we were able to experience a lot of universal language such as smiling, laughing, and high fives. We were able to enjoy the relationship and friendship of people we barely knew because of our bond for sports.

We ate different foods, tasted A LOT of ice cream and spent a lot of time in the sun. I played volleyball most of the time and the court was outside. I am used to playing volleyball indoors. This was a huge change for me, but i enjoyed it. Each day the volleyball became more competitive. There was a mixed of women and men ranges from ages 17-35. Volleyball is not as big of sport where I live, so we don't really have groups that can show up to the park to play volleyball. I may do that actually set up a facebook group to see who would be interested, you guys think that a good idea?

Holocaust:

We also went to the Auschwitz concentration camp museum. It was a huge eye opener. Being able to see something that you only learned about in textbook, movies and novels. It was shocking and horrible to imagine. Knowing that there was a time in our history that people try to forget or wipe out but is SO important. I saw replicas of their living conditions and gas chambers. I was also able to see original artifacts. I have uploaded some photos of the things and buildings I saw.

We took an audio tour of the entire camp and had a chance to witness the terrible conditions and mistreatment of millions of innocent people. It was heartbreaking to hear and see, but I think a huge wake up call to remind you of what our world was like. Hopefully, we as a collective community can keep history from repeating itself. Starting with getting rid of "immigrant" detention facilities.

If you have any questions about the photos I have posted, like what they are or mean, I would be glad to answer them for you. (:
